Geoscience research fellow and postdoctoral positions
Academia Sinica is Taiwanˇ¦s premier, state-funded research organization in all fields from physical and life sciences to humanity. The Institute of Earth Sciences (IES) of the Academia Sinica seeks applicants for tenure-track research fellows and postdoctoral research associates. IES has strong and active programs in solid-Earth geophysics and geochemistry, equipped with advanced, analytical instrumentation and computing facilities and maintaining field observation networks. Current investigations include seismological and geodetic observations, regional and global tectonic, gravity and geomagnetic analysis and modeling, isotope geochemistry, igneous and metamorphic petrology, volcanology and paleoclimatology. Having no direct teaching duties, IES staff is encouraged to cooperate with university faculties.

We invite applications from outstanding candidates for: (1) up to two tenure-track research fellows (equivalent to university professors) on all levels of seniority; and (2) up to two post-doctoral associates for 1-year appointments extendable to 2 years. Research areas that complement the above-mentioned fields are preferred, but all strong applications will be considered. Candidates for research fellows will have demonstrated research excellence and will develop solid research programs; post-doctoral associates will have shown potential for independent and innovative research themes.
